Half of the lead role is taking charge of the platform: Shopify architecture, website
performance, AI-assisted development. I've got that one in the pocket.
The other half is focused on people and collaboration, and that's the part I find myself craving.
I build and look after Loop's international Shopify Plus platform with a small, strong, autonomous web team. A team I already know, love and trust.
Looking back now, I recognise that the growth areas I keep gravitating toward are the people-oriented and
more abstract ones: project management, architectural thinking, public learning. It shows up in the initiatives I've joined too:
Culture Champion squad, Loop League Day org, Google Guides. Additionally, I've been reshaping how we document as a team, so the thinking actually gets shared, and clearing the path so the people around me aren't stuck.
These are patterns I look forward to nurturing as lead web developer.

Loop Earplugs
Sep 2023 – present · Antwerp (hybrid)
Senior Shopify Developer (Jan 2025 – present) · Shopify Developer (Sep 2023 – Jan 2025)
- Currently leading Loop's web accessibility (WCAG) initiative in 2026, with a focus on introducing accessibility concepts to the entire Shopify team and making it a core value of the full website lifecycle.
- Led the cart migration from Rebuy to a native liquid-ajax-cart built on our design system. Better performance and more accessible, while getting rid of an expensive third-party dependency that sat right on a core revenue flow.
- Built the first White Noise generator on the site. This introduced the use of the new concept of Shopify theme blocks in our codebase, and laid the groundwork for the follow-up White Noise functionality in the new Loop app.
- Rated Game Changer on company Constellations two review cycles in a row. I am a member of the Culture Champion squad, was a Google Guide through our Microsoft to Google Migration, and was part of the Loop League Day organisation for two seasons, taking charge of organising multiple events and building a virtual hub for remote Loopers to be able to join in online activities synced to the in-person events.
The Connected Loop · Frontend Developer (Connected Enabler)
Sep 2018 – Jan 2023 · Ghent
The Connected Loop was a digital innovation studio. I built websites, apps and ecommerce experiences, mostly focused on Angular and Shopify, while also owning the
SEO/ASO and the technical & functional analysis that came with them. I leaned further into project management here
and worked directly with suppliers and clients.
A few projects I still look back on fondly: the
NMBS virtual assistant at Brussels-South station, an in-person experience which ran on Google’s natural language understanding platform Dialogflow (3–4k travelers a month),
SoldAndSet, an online property-bidding platform for vastgoedgroep Dewaele (~20–30k visitors a month), and
the Leadlife preventive-healthcare and Trendwood furniture Shopify stores.
Roularta Media Group · Innovation Lab & Assistant Application Owner
2017 – 2018 · Roeselare
Where it all started. In the Innovation Lab I scouted and documented new tools for the business units and helped start, plan and run projects with a focus on the chatbot trend that was taking over the industry.
As assistant application owner I looked after Roularta's mobile apps: App Store Optimization, analytics, troubleshooting and rollouts.
